Product Profile
Product Name Collagen VII antibody
Antibody Type Primary Antibodies
Product description Mouse monoclonal [LH7.2] to Collagen VIIThis gene encodes the alpha chain of type VII collagen. The type VII collagen fibril, composed of three identical alpha collagen chains, is restricted to the basement zone beneath stratified squamous epithelia. It functions as an anchoring fibril between the external epithelia and the underlying stroma. Mutations in this gene are associated with all forms of dystrophic epidermolysis bullosa. In the absence of mutations, however, an acquired form of this disease can result from an autoimmune response made to type VII collagen. [provided by RefSeq]
Immunogen Full length native protein (purified) (Human). Insoluble fractions prepared from neonatal foreskin epidermal cells.

Target Collagen VII
Tissue Specificity Reactive in immunoblotting against intact tissue Type VII collagen (250kD). Pepsin digestion of terminal regions leads to complte loss of reactivity. Antibody reactivity is conserved after treatment with collagenase. No reactivity against collagen types I, II, III, IV, V, laminin and fibronectin. The antibody reacts predominantly with the basement membrane zone of stratified ssquamous epithelia and ectodermally derived glands.
